Lauri Myllyvirta is the co-founder and lead analyst of the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air, an independent research organization headquartered in Finland with staff across Europe and Asia. He has worked for the past decade as an energy analyst covering climate, energy and air pollution issues across Asia, and was based in Beijing in 2015–2019. His research covers sources, drivers and health impacts of air pollution. Mr. Myllyvirta has also done research on China’s coal consumption and CO2 trends and the overcapacity situation in coal-fired power and steel industry.
Mr. Myllyvirta has degrees in economics from Helsinki University and in environmental science from University of Jyvaskyla.
