From Oil to Opportunity – Lessons from the UK’s North Sea Transition

Kl 13:30 – 14:00 Scene 2

While Norway is still debating new exploration areas, the United Kingdom has already changed course. Both Labour – and the Conservatives before them – have developed plans and struck agreements with industry on the UK continental shelf to ensure that jobs, skills and value creation are not lost in the global energy transition. Such a plan is still missing in Norway — even though ZERO’s recent industry survey shows that companies themselves are calling for one to secure a predictable and fair transition.

What can Norway learn from its sister parties on the other side of the North Sea?
In this session, ZERO invites you to an inspiring presentation from the United Kingdom – on how political leadership and active industrial policy can turn the energy transition into a growth story, not a loss scenario.
